Traditional animation is done by using drawings but there are other interesting mediums too to produce animation. Stop motion animation is one of the technique which helps in producing animation shot or a film by using props, backgrounds and models made out of clay or any other object.
Stop motion can be done with puppets, action figures and cutouts. In the past, stop motion was used as a form of special effects for live action films which is now replaced by visual effects but still stop motion is very much relevant for studying animation or as a medium of film making.
